Ashtanga vinyasa is a dynamic system that consists of a precise sequence of postures and breath control. By doing this practice, people can learn to breathe deeper with more energy and efficiency.
By practicing Ashtanga vinyasa you increase stamina and strength, improve flexibility, balance, muscle tone, and joint mobility. It also affects your emotions and thoughts by bringing stillness of the mind.
The class will finish with a brief seated practice where we will explore breathing techniques and look for stillness, silence and contemplation.
Gentle yoga leading to meditation
In this class we will move our bodies slowly and gently through yogic postures. Whilst moving, we will bring our awareness to our breath and overall physical sensations. This will work on our body making it supple amd balanced and will help to settle the mind, allowing us to finish our practice with a series of yogic breathing techniques that, beyond their physical benefits, will further the possibility of a state of stillness and meditation.
